The Primary Years Programme (PYP) is a transdisciplinary, inquiry-based, and student-centered education framework for children aged 3-12 years. The PYP 1 curriculum is designed to help students develop a strong foundation in the following areas:

 

Language and literacy: Students in PYP 1 should be able to read, write, and speak fluently in their first language. They should also be able to understand and use different types of text, such as stories, poems, and nonfiction texts.

Mathematics: Students in PYP 1 should develop a strong understanding of basic mathematical concepts, such as number sense, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. They should also be able to solve simple mathematical problems.

Science: Students in PYP 1 should develop a basic understanding of the natural world. They should be able to observe and investigate the world around them, and to ask questions about how things work.

Social studies: Students in PYP 1 should develop a basic understanding of the world around them. They should be able to learn about different cultures, and to understand the importance of social responsibility.

The arts: Students in PYP 1 should develop an appreciation for the arts. They should be able to express themselves creatively through different art forms, such as painting, drawing, music, and dance.
